Abby Yearns to Return to Japan

Since her 2015 internship in Japan at the NorthStar Lodge, Abby Horvat has been determined to return to the country that filled her with passion and purpose. While she served the people of Japan, her eyes were opened to their pressing need for Christ. It was a life-changing experience; one that she hopes to develop in others.

Abby, with the collaboration of NorthStar and Clinton Grace Brethren Church in Clinton, MD, created an opportunity for interested individuals to explore the ministry needs of Japan by organizing a 12-day trip to help people see the incredible need for Jesus among the Japanese and the tangible ways Christians can minister to the community. During the trip, the team will carve out a mountain bike trail for the NorthStar Lodge, help run a Christian Family Outreach Festival, hike the beautiful Norikura Peak, and explore the city of Tokyo. There will also be a fair amount of worship and Bible study gatherings.

Today, Japan is one of the most unreached countries in the world. This trip would be a great window into that reality. If you are generally interested in learning more about how you can help Japan be reached for the sake of Christ’s name, this opportunity may be something to consider. Abby has worked diligently on making this trip possible. All that is needed now are people who feel led to go.
