How One Florida Church Reaches Out Locally, Nationally, and Internationally

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

—Acts 1:8

When the members of Ocean View Fellowship in Indialantic, Florida think about outreach, they think about that verse. They see outreach as an opportunity to minister locally, nationally, and internationally.

Locally, the church is reaching out to its community by meeting at a local crossfit gym for worship services Sunday mornings and evenings. They also have a heart for strengthening families by hosting a weekly fellowship time in the home of their pastor, Billy Tweeddale. He and his wife, Jennifer, feel a responsibility to uphold biblical family values and teach others how to do so as well. They also attend city council meetings and county commission meetings to ensure their biblical voices are heard.

Nationally, church members have a heart for the unborn, and regularly serve at the largest abortion clinic in the state to counsel mothers. Billy and Jennifer also have a rental property in Melbourne Beach, Florida, where pastors can come from all over the country to rest and recharge their spiritual batteries.

Internationally, the church is developing a partnership with Caribbean Vision Ministries (CVM), which was founded by pastor Chuck Smith to reach the Caribbean people for Jesus. Currently, they are helping build a church in Nassau, Bahamas, and their goal is to double the size of the current church there! This month, they are sending a team to lay the foundation for a new building, and they’ll be sending additional teams to finalize the construction in the spring of 2024.

We love how Ocean View Fellowship models their outreach efforts around Acts 1:8. If you’re interested in contributing to their work in the Bahamas, joining them on their spring trip, or booking a stay in their rental property, email Pastor Billy.
