God Had Prepared Her Well

During a short-term mission trip to Haiti, high schooler Ally saw for the first time a beautiful display of international ministry where teams were empowering others with sustainable models for physical and spiritual success. She saw people helping others learn to help themselves.

After seeing the merging of physical and spiritual aid in a way that empowered the community, Ally was inspired to find a way to contribute to global missions that could be equally as powerful.

Though she yearned to go straight into international ministry after graduating high school, Ally believed it would best serve her mission ambitions if she got a college degree first. So, after earning a great scholarship to Liberty University, she packed her bags and headed to Virginia.

When it came time to choose a major, Ally decided to pursue a nursing degree. She believed nursing could genuinely benefit those in need while also serving as a great inroad into the lives of people not easily reached by Christians. So, with a major chosen, she studied hard and took every opportunity she could to develop her heart for the Nations.

In her third year, Ally traveled to Rwanda to participate in a project aiming to empower people in several villages by developing sustainable healthcare programs. This great experience led her to track down an internship in Africa before her senior year. Sadly, all she met were closed doors. With the summer approaching, she was left wondering what to do for an internship.

One night, Ally received a text message from her long-time friend, Adriana. She had been friends with her since she was young and they both shared a passion for global missions (check out Adriana’s story here). In God’s providence, Adriana was planning on serving as an intern in Central Asia with Encompass World Partners. And believe it or not, the Central Asia team was also looking for someone who cared about empowering communities and who also possessed a healthcare background. So, Adriana encouraged Ally to consider going with her as an intern.

After praying about it, she talked with Encompass mobilizers and the Central Asia team. With their input, she decided it was the perfect opportunity for her! It was clear that God had prepared her well for this internship.

So, this June, Ally will join the Central Asia team for the summer and use her nursing skills to minister to and empower marginalized people in the city and countryside. She is excited to further develop her missional heart and gain practical ministry experience in her field. Pray for Ally’s time to be beneficial and for God to use her mightily.
