A Day with God

“God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supply.” –Hudson Taylor

Last Thursday was a beautiful morning in Atlanta, GA, and the home office of Encompass World Partners closed for the entire day while several employees gathered at the historic McDaniels Farm Park to participate in a bi-annual Day with God.

At the park, participants walked forest trails in prayer and spent time of reflection on scripture, allowing their hearts and minds to rest in this busy season of work. Toward the end of the day the group assembled to share the thoughts and feelings experienced throughout their time and to come before God together in prayer. It was a greatly needed time for refocus of vision and peace of mind.

The bi-annual Day with God is a legacy that finds its roots in the very heart of Encompass. Encompass embraces a bold vision: to spread the knowledge and glory of God in Christ among the least reached peoples of the world through

Relentless pursuit of the Great Commission in all of its implication

Prayer that leads to vision that leads to Risk-taking faith

Valuing individuals And empowering teams

The glory of the Church as God’s plan for this age

Strive for Excellence in all we do

As Director of Member Care Steve Bailey said, “Some jobs you can do successfully without any heart, but you can’t do this one. Even when you have a lot of work to get done, having a planned day to spend between you and God is vital for this operation.”

Across the world, our Encompass Partners and Global Workers are encouraged to participate in the Day with God, and everyone who does finds this practice refreshing for their ministry. When your work is the mission of God, it is critical to take the time to listen to His leading.

Have you planned your Day with God?

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” -Psalms 23:1-3
