Most believers know the tension: we should be sharing our faith, but we don’t always know how. We feel the pressure to say something, but when we don’t, guilt creeps in. And when we do try, it can feel forced, scripted, and…well, awkward.
For a lot of us, when we think of evangelism, we think of walking up to a total stranger and awkwardly fumbling through a complex explanation of sin, hell, and Jesus. It feels like you’re pitching a product or like you’re a car salesman trying to close a deal. And let’s be real—nobody likes being sold to.
But it doesn’t have to be awkward or sales-y. In fact, one of the most natural ways to share your faith is by just openly talking about what God is doing in your life.
It doesn’t have to be a sermon. You can just talk about your everyday life, like:
That’s it! You don’t need to perform or prepare a speech. You just need to mention what He’s doing in your life.
When your friends hear stuff like that and see you actually living it out, that makes them curious. They’ll start wondering, “Where does that peace come from? Why do they handle life differently than I do?” And if God is working in their heart, He’ll steer that conversation (or a later one) in the right direction.
And that’s the beauty of it. You don’t have to force anything or try to sell someone on Jesus. You’re just being real about your love for God and allowing Him to do the heavy lifting. Using that approach really takes the pressure off of you. It also helps ensure that the people you go deeper with are actually ready and open to hearing about God.
Sharing your faith doesn’t have to feel like a sales pitch. It can feel like what it really is: talking about Someone you love and what He’s doing in your life!
