PURPOSE: To provide emergency response to urgent needs which concern local Charis Alliance churches and their members in the Central African Republic (C.A.R.). This assistance includes things such as food, medical services, and church ministry needs which are the result of civil unrest, famine, and economic crises in the country. Distribution is done through the local churches. This ministry provides an opportunity to promote discipleship, evangelism, and church planting.
NEED: More than half of the population of the C.A.R. is in need of humanitarian assistance with one in four in moderate to severe food insecurity (according to the U.N.). Currently, almost half of the residents of Bangui, the capital city, are displaced, and nationally, one million of C.A.R.'s 4.6 million people are displaced. Many local churches have been damaged or destroyed as a result of civil unrest which occurred in the past five years. Members have been severely persecuted, and their lives are torn apart.
GOAL: To Raise $40,000 annually over three years to help restore the lives and ministries of our brothers and sisters where needed within C.A.R.
