The Atlanta Church Planting Initiative is comprised of three primary partners: Encompass World Partners, a Grace Brethren Church in Ohio, and the Grace Brethren Investment Foundation. Two other parties are also considering annual commitments over three years.
Primary: To plant a cluster of churches uniquely positioned and equipped to evangelize, disciple, and equip second-generation immigrants in metro Atlanta.
Secondary (1): To utilize the unique resources of these churches to establish viable ministries that evangelize, disciple, and equip first-generation immigrants.
Secondary (2): To mobilize first- and second-generation immigrants for ethnic ministries in North America and in their countries of origin.
Recruit, equip, and deploy a team of three couples of diverse ethnic backgrounds (or high ethnic sensitivity) as a church planting team that targets urban millennials in a manner especially sensitive to the unique worldview and aspirations of second-generation immigrants.
The team will function as an extension of the Ohio church, which will take responsibility for overseeing their training, strategy, and operations in pursuit of the primary goal.
Encompass World Partners will collaborate by providing logistical support and training in cross-cultural ministry sensitivity and skills, and will have the freedom to work within and alongside these church plants to pursue the secondary goals.
The intended duration of this Project will be three years, January 1, 2016–December 31, 2018.
