Starting a new job is always a challenge, and even more so when that job is half a world away. That’s what Merielle was facing when she left the US to work at a coffee shop in Southeast Asia. And through the change, she has experienced God’s faithfulness in remarkable ways.


Culture shifts of the last 20 years have affected nearly every area of church life and ministry, but perhaps none more so than missions.

The Barna group has released a new report called Reviving Evangelism. The study looks at the faith-sharing experiences and expectations of Christians and non-Christians alike in all generational brackets. Among the major findings in the report, the most pressing discovery is that young adult Christians hold a conflicted sentiment toward evangelism.

Rain had been falling for a full week before cyclone Idai made landfall on March 4th, 2019. By the time the hurricane struck, there was no place for the water to go, so it spread laterally. One such inland “river” was reportedly 31 miles wide, carrying along and depositing millions of tons of mud and debris.

The World Watch List1 published by Open Doors counts 65 countries where Christians are persecuted. In places at the top of the list, like North Korea and Somalia, converting to Christianity can lead to death. In most watch list countries, missionaries are not allowed, and if a foreign worker is suspected of proselytizing, they will be expelled or imprisoned.
