Celebrating the Charis Alliance

Charis Celebration Sunday at Los Altos Grace Brethren Church Charis Celebration Sunday at Los Altos Grace Brethren Church

On November 5, churches across the globe observed Charis Celebration Sunday...a day to recognize the Charis Alliance worldwide movement and to seek God’s blessing in their common pursuit of biblical truth, biblical relationship, and biblical mission. Here are a few brief windows into some of those experiences.

Frankley xFrankley Church Celebrates Charis and Commissions New Pastor
In England, Rainer Ehmann (National Ministry Partner based in Stuttgart, Germany) had quite the memorable day. Along with his presentation on the Charis Alliance and its meaning to Charis Fellowship churches around the world, representatives from England, Ireland, Portugal, and Germany were all present to inaugurate the new pastor of the Frankley Church, Manchester native Troy Donahue. Everyone expressed gratitude and reveled in the reality that they were a part of something bigger than themselves.

Jesus MunozCharis Celebration at Iglesia la Esperanza

Pastor Javier Forero was away from his Iglesia la Esperanza/Hope Community Church family in Tampa, Florida on Charis Celebration Sunday. As only God could orchestrate, Javier was instead in Colombia presenting the Charis Alliance to six independent churches interested in joining our global movement.

In Pastor Javier’s absence, Jesús Munoz (Encompass' Coordinator of Ethnic Ministries) presented an overview of the Charis Alliance to those in the Spanish-speaking service in Tampa. The small church, comprised predominantly of Hispanic members, was happy to learn more about the Charis family and rejoiced knowing they were a part of a worldwide movement. Afterward, several people asked to know more about Charis and how they could be involved!

Los Altos1Global Relationships Celebrated in California
Mike Jentes (Encompass' Coordinator of Mobilization Initiatives) enjoyed Charis Celebration Sunday at Los Altos Grace Brethren Church in Long Beach, California. For this special Sunday, the focus of their current series on relationships shifted to the church’s global focus.

The message highlighted the church's community relationships, expounded on ties to their statewide network of churches, their national involvement with the newly named Charis Fellowship, and finally, to their global relationship to the Charis Alliance.

Seeing the global picture was amazing! Everyone delighted in how big their church family really was, even giving many financial gifts to help support the Charis Alliance. Toward the end of the service, Encompass Prayer Guides were given to those interested learning more about what God is doing through our movement around the world.
