Prayer Resource for Ramadan 2017

Prayer Resource for Ramadan 2017

Beginning in late May, over a billion Muslims across the world will celebrate the month of Ramadan with fasting and prayer. Each year for one month, Muslims corporately abstain from food and drink from dawn to dusk to help strengthen self-control, remember the poor, and develop closeness with Allah. Today, it is easy for western Christians to feel anger, fear, or hatred toward Muslims because of the consistent media coverage on Islamic extremists, but as Christ’s body, our hearts should be filled with compassion for these people who seek, as we do, to draw close to God, but have never met His Son.

Since 1993, WorldChristian.com has helped coordinate an international movement called 30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World to focus the hearts of Christians on the needs of the Muslim community. Each year a prayer guide is published in multiple languages to help Christians pray for Muslims every day during Ramadan. This illustrated guide contains daily readings that explore Muslim people groups and display geographical areas in the Islamic world. It also features informative background articles and resources to help those who want to do more to reach Muslims for Christ. There is even a children’s version so that the whole family can participate.

If you would like to learn more about the Muslim faith and how you can engage with this people group, consider participating in 30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World this year. You can find the prayer guide and more details about the event on the 30 Days of Prayer for the Muslim World website.
