Storms wreak havoc across the globe, and often leave in their wake extensive damage to locations where resources and infrastructure are already lacking. Donations to this fund allow Encompass to work through local churches in affected areas to bring the most-needed relief.
Encompass/Charis Fellowship’s Disaster Responses to Mozambique Flooding
On March 4, 2019, the winds and rains of Cyclone Idai arrived on the shores of Mozambique and that the UN is calling it the most devastating natural disaster to strike the southern hemisphere, with an estimated three million people affected and the death toll rising daily (so far 750 are dead in three countries).
Encompass and the Charis Fellowship are partnering with a close friend of the Fellowship, pastor George Stagg of Twin Cities Church in Minnesota, to help their sister church in Beira, Mozambique, which was at the center of the impact zone. This highly missional church will be serving their community, and we’d like to put relief and other supplies in their hands.
Donations received beyond what is needed for the current project will remain in this fund to be available for future Storm Relief efforts.
