Hero Welcomed to Glory!

Dr. Wayne and Dorothy Beaver Dr. Wayne and Dorothy Beaver

Longtime Encompass missionary Wayne Beaver went home to be with his Lord on April 6, 2016. Wayne was used greatly by God during his earthly journey. In his 30-year missionary career in the Central African Republic, he directed the National G.R.O.W. Evangelistic Campaign which saw over 300,000 people come to know Christ. He was also involved in translating the Bible into the Sango language.

Known affectionately as "Uncle Wayne" to a generation of African MKs (Missionary Kids), he was also known to many at Encompass World Partners as "Dr. Beaver." This moniker was applied after Wayne's retirement from active ministry on the field and his appointment to the faculty of Grace Theological Seminary, where he also served as head of the Missions Department for many years.

Wayne also served as a faithful Encompass board member from 1981–2004. Without a doubt, this service extended Wayne’s influence and impact to a global scale. Only in eternity will we know all the ways the Lord used this choice servant.

Hebrews 6:12 encourages us to “…imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promise.” Romans 13:7 says, “…give honor to whom honor is owed.” We at Encompass celebrate and pay tribute to Wayne Beaver for a life worthy to be imitated, and honor him as the spiritual hero that he was. May we all strive to hear the words Wayne most surely heard from his Master as he entered his eternal rest: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
