Update on Brenda Welling

Brenda Welling (GBIM staff) was released from the Warsaw hospital at noon on Sunday. She did very well after the surgery, but was scheduled to have an endoscopy this morning at 10:30 at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. A stone was stuck in the bile duct. She should be home tomorrow.

Bess Farrell writes, “We are very thankful for you and your prayers. God is so good to us and we have seen His hand in working out all the details of this entire experience. It is so great to be in His care and to be able to rest right there. Do continue to pray.”

florent Praise the Lord that the Lyon church moved back into its renovated / expanded facilities Sunday July 5th, hosted a youth evangelistic camp, and held an evangelistic concert July 11th. Pastor Florent Varak recently requested, “Pray with us that (the building) becomes a tool in God’s hands to reach the lost and edify the church.”

Larry DeArmey, GBIM staff, heads out July 13th to Bangui, C.A.R. for two weeks of leadership of the Africa Mission Internship (AMI) team . Mike and Myra Taylor, GBIM staff, have been leading the team of 7 young adults for two weeks, and Larry now takes over in order to release the Taylors for important commitments in the States.

Brenda Welling has an inflamed and enlarged gall bladder full of stones and is scheduled for surgery for 8 AM Saturday morning, July 11th, in Warsaw, to remove the gall bladder. Brenda and Bess will be staying in Winona Lake at the missionary residence until the doctor gives the OK to travel. He restricted travel for at least a week, so Bess and Brenda’s scheduled stop in Roanoke, VA, for Friday had to be changed, along with other speaking engagements.

Stuttgart GBC Inaugurates New Rooms

Rainer Ehmann reports that “We started services in our new facilities on May 21. What a huge praise! Monday we will start the first activity for the center for handicapped people where we are now renting our rooms.
Please pray for inroads into these peoples' lives and for fruit for eternity.

Juan and Adriana Saez report from Curicó, Chile that they are seeing much enthusiasm on the part of the children who attend the Children’s Club. They write, “We are very happy to see how the Lord is putting interest in the hearts of some brothers and sisters to get involved in God’s work, and how the group of leaders is growing. Most of the people of the church are involved in a small group during the week, strengthening discipleship and interpersonal relationships.

July 13-16 will witness The African Charis Conference in Yaoundé, Cameroon. They will discuss and pray about evangelism, church planting, leadership training and questions regarding integrated ministry. Please pray for safety in travel for delegates who have already begun the long, sometimes dangerous journey to Yaounde, from the countries of C.A.R., Chad, and perhaps other African countries.

GBIM Family Reunion begins today at the IMC building in Winona Lake. Twenty eight missionaries, along with appointees, will participate in the 4 day event, beginning with dinner on Monday night. Board members and IMC staff will be heavily involved. All day sessions are slated for Tuesday and Wednesday, and half day on Thursday.
