Storm Damage in Moundou Chad

Storm Damage in Moundou Chad
Melina Ezel, (Gbim staff Moundou Chad) reports on a devastating wind storm which hit Moundou yesterday: "We were treated to an extremely fierce wind which brought great devastation to countless homes and trees. Consider that the majority of the people here live in simple mud brick houses with grass or loosely tinned roofs and you can maybe get an idea of the wreckage. Victoria, Dadje's daughter, told me of at least 3 deaths and numerous ones injured from collapsed houses.

"Victoria had come to visit me on account of her father's mango orchard. Yesterday's storm wreaked terrible havoc on their mango crop which would have been ready for harvest in a few short weeks. Now a small group of workers are busy gathering the thousands of mangos lying green on the ground in an effort to salvage what they can. Although many of these will continue to ripen and can still be used, the fruit will not fetch full price. It is a heavy blow to a family already suffering much."

Please pray for Dadje's family. This crop would have provided much income for them in the next year; income that is now more important than ever. A note of praise is for the wonderful compassion and love shown by the evangelists (Dadje's personal disciples and coworkers) to Dadje's wife and family. The evangelists decided of their own accord that Christine is "their widow" and they have agreed to each give her 10% of their own regular income to make sure she is taken care of.

Please pray for Chad and its people. God is working, Satan is resisting, and his attacks come from all sides. Pray that the believers would stand strong.
