Mensingers to Arrive in Cameroon March 6th

Mensingers to Arrive in Cameroon March 6th

Eddie and Linda Mensinger are scheduled to arrive in Yaoundé, Cameroon Saturday afternoon, March 6th. During their stay they expect to conduct classes in Douala and Yaounde and also to attend the Grace Brethren National Conference which will be held in Ngaoundere, a town in north-central Cameroon which is linked by a paved road to Yaoundé in the south and Garoua and Maroua in the north (all locations of Grace Brethren Churches).

However, since Mensingers will not have a car at their disposal, they will be traveling by train. Linda writes, "The train is jerky and often breaks down and normally takes 16 hours. Please pray with us that there will be no breakdowns and that we will arrive safe and sound in Ngaoundere."

The theme of conference is "The Church, the Incarnation of Christ" based on Acts 1:8. Eddie will be preaching twice. The challenge to the Cameroon people is to make the leap from an ethnic church to a missionary-minded church that reaches out to the Cameroon people and invites them into their churches. Since most of the churches in Cameroon consist of people who have migrated from CAR and Chad, most of the churches are tribal churches. Linda explains, "We have Kabba and Pana churches from CAR and Ngambai and Mboum churches from Chad. We, along with others, have worked hard to convince them that God has placed them in this country to reach out to be a spiritual light to those around them. They must begin to reach out to their neighbors with God's love and invite them also to know and put their trust in Him."

Pray for safe travel for all the people going to conference. So often there are accidents and sometimes deaths connected with conference travel.

Pray for an outpouring of the Spirit on the conference, that pastors and lay-people will realize their responsibility to spread the good news to the world.

Pray for attentive ears and hearts to the messages which will be given at conference, and for good follow through on decisions made.

Pray that Mensingers' week of classes at Ngaoundere following conference will encourage the people to grow strong in the Lord and be the testimonies that they need to be in Cameroon
