Kay Carver and Beate Schlecht had the opportunity to attend a six day medical village health care course in Ndjamena, Chad. Using the book Village Medical Manual written by Dr. Mary Vanderkooi they learned how to question people to prepare a medical history. Also, they did practice sessions on taking blood pressure, using a stethoscope, giving injections, suturing wounds, inserting catheters and many more things.
This is valuable knowledge, especially as they work in remote villages where medical help is not readily obtainable. Not only will the mission staff be medical aids, but they will have opportunity to teach villagers certain of these skills.
Please pray for new staff for Chad, especially for medical personnel.
