The Ethnic Leaders Consultation gathers church planters to connect, to draw encouragement, and to refresh one another in the Lord. Eighteen pastors and leaders participated and 9 of them brought their wives. This gathering was the first for the wives to attend with their husbands. Ethnic groups represented included: American Indians from the Navajo Nation, Haitians, African Americans, Latinos and Anglos.
The Ethnic leaders took a tour of a Hindu Temple, sharing and praying about the need to reach the nations for Christ. Dr. Tom Stalter and Dr. Jeff Gill (both of Grace Seminary), Dr Dave Guiles (Encompass World Partners), Jon Stallsmith (JIQ) and Jay and Jan Bell led in seminars and group studies. It was felt that the ladies contributed greatly to the spirit of the meetings. One of the highlights was taking communion with the participation of the entire group. They sang, worshipped and prayed in their mother tongues.
Please pray for the ethnic leaders, now returned home with much information that needs to be assimilated.
Pray also for wisdom as FGBC enters Atlanta, which has a vast ethnic landscape representing more than 145 countries with 761 different languages; about 90% of them have not yet heard the name of Jesus.
