Saint James Walk Underway

Saint James Walk Underway

The annual Saint James Way Project outreach began August 1 and continues through the 15th. Participants from Portugal, France and USA will hike almost 100 miles in 8 days, touching the lives of fellow hikers all along the way. Pray that they will be good ambassadors.
Pray for Abel, a layman from the Porto GBC, who coordinates the daily activity of the teams. Abel has been the main catalyst in the Porto church men's ministry, and ever since his first involvement with the Saint James Way project knew that God was calling him to a greater commitment to this ministry.

The Saint James project is an evangelistic outreach bringing together teams from the States with European churches, to hike along a route that thousands of people hike every year. With the spiritual context of arriving at the famous Saint James Cathedral at the end of the hike, the days are filled with natural conversations connecting real life with faith. This is what excited Abel about the project.

Pray for the American team from Norton and Columbus GBC churches in Ohio. Pastor Doug Jensen coordinates this group. Pray that they will feel comfortable in a culture not their own. Pray for strong legs and healthy feet and for a cheerful spirit.

Pray for the 10 people from the Porto church that will be ministering during these weeks, taking personal vacation time to help.

Rick and Twinky Satterthwaite who were the organizers of the Saint James Project for years are no longer part of the GBIM Spain mission, but they will be participating in the walks. Pray for an effective ministry for them.
