On the right is a poster that the Argentine Missions Commission used to mobilize their churches to help Haiti. Steve Bailey, GBIM Area Director for Latin America, sends the translation:
January 31 Day of Prayer and Offering for Haiti." Because although you may be far away...you can help. ‘freely you received, freely you should give' Matthew 10:8 The Grace Brethren Church of Argentina"
Steve continues, "I think the most significant thing to remember is that in Argentina and Mexico we have two emerging mission organizations, led by Grace Brethern, who are sending their own people out on mission. The one in Argentina is around 10 years old and has sent people to Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Chad and Angola. The one in Mexico was just officially formed last year. They are mainly focused, for the present, on sending and supporting their own people to plant churches within the country of Mexico.

Steve Bailey, Latin America Area Director
"On January 24 the Mexican Mission Commission organized and promoted among all their churches a day of Prayer and Offering for their brothers in Haiti. They are still getting that money together and will send it to GBIM on behalf of the GBC churches of Mexico. The President of the Mexico Mission Commission told me, "It is with much humility but with all of our heart that we send this offering to help the people of Haiti".
"A week later, Jan. 31st, the Mission Commission of Argentina had the same special day of offering.
"As a Regional Director (I feel that) the most significant aspect of all of this was the action of these young mission movements to take these offerings and mobilize their national churches to pray. It is sign that they are growing, maturing and becoming what God wants them to be - mobilizing people to be on mission - in their national church contexts."
