Clisson with the Lord
Saturday, 19 April 2014 16:52

From Karina this morning comes the news that Clisson passed away yesterday afternoon, Friday, April 18. "He’s no longer suffering.  He’s with his precious Lord." Clisson was one of Dadje's disciples, so there was a grand reunion, but a huge feeling of loss in Chad.

PRAY for God’s comfort for his family: his wife, Hawa, their three chidlren; Clisson’s parents and siblings; and all the evangelists and believers in Eastern Chad.

The latest word we have received on Evangelist Clisson is a week old. At that time Karina Corrales went to visit him and sent this report:
"Clisson is bedridden, very weak and his stomach is swollen. It is sad to see him so thin; in just four weeks he has lost a lot of weight. He is eating and drinking a little but still has diarrhea. He is awake and talking. His family thanked us for our visit and our prayers. His life is in God's hands, and he is at peace, trusting in his Lord."

Please continue your urgent prayers for this dear servant of God.

Encompass World Partners has received a Vital Worship Grant from the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship (CICW) in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The grant will fund a year-long project and is one of 31 grants totaling more than $300,000 awarded for 2014 by the CICW to churches, schools and seminaries across North America.

“We learn a tremendous amount from these programs,” said CICW director John Witvliet, “from the wisdom demonstrated in designing them and the insights gleaned from implementing and adapting them as they unfold. We look forward to sharing insights from these projects with a larger audience in our future programming over the next several years."

Leaders of the Honor-Shame project are grateful for the prayers and eager to get started.

Recent Update from Dr. Augustin Hibaile
Saturday, 12 April 2014 19:33

Dr. Hibaile sends greetings “from the unsafe part of the world”. He writes, “I have gained experience these past two weeks in humanitarian assistance to Internally Displaced People (IDP) in a camp with Humedica International from Germany. Kits of food and non food items were given to 500 families who were satisfied and thankful for the aid. The catholic Priest who manages the IDPs in their compound was pleased and has asked me if he could share some of his spiritual concerns with me. Please pray that I will have an opportunity to meet him. We have one more distribution in this camp.

There have been conflicting reports on the condition of Evangelist Clisson. At latest word (Monday, April 7), he is alive.

Missionary Beate Schlecht writes, "After we got news that Clisson passed away, Nestor called me just half an hour ago to tell me that "il est ressuscité de la mort" ( He has awakened from the dead!) So whatever that means, he is still alive! I think he went into a coma and praise God they didn´t bury him alive. Thank you for your continued prayers for Clisson and his family.

Update on the Bangui Situation
Tuesday, 25 March 2014 22:41

Dr. Hibaile reports today that things are not good in Bangui. The Seminary students are detained at the station because of closed roads due to killing and fighting at PK5 and PK12. There are some terrorists causing trouble but Dr. Hibaile does not know the origins of the terrorists. He has heard that the peace keeping troops from Burundi are aiding the terrorists by giving supplies.  The anti balaka are still carrying on with their violence.
