Friday, January 13, 2017 – The Encompass email server crashed this past weekend, leaving all "@encompassworld.org" email addresses inoperable. We've been working with our IT partners all week to resolve the situation, but it will be a bit longer until everything is resolved.

Prayer Resource for Ramadan 2017

Beginning in late May, over a billion Muslims across the world will celebrate the month of Ramadan with fasting and prayer. Each year for one month, Muslims corporately abstain from food and drink from dawn to dusk to help strengthen self-control, remember the poor, and develop closeness with Allah. Today, it is easy for western Christians to feel anger, fear, or hatred toward Muslims because of the consistent media coverage on Islamic extremists, but as Christ’s body, our hearts should be filled with compassion for these people who seek, as we do, to draw close to God, but have never met His Son.

Have you heard of the term “laser-focused”? As you might imagine, it describes someone who is extremely focused on something, maybe a goal – never wavering in their attention – straight ahead like a laser beam. There is a man in my church in his 70s that uses this term often. I like it.

Manifold Christmas Traditions Around the World

Many traditions and customs are practiced all around the world revolving around the Christmas holiday. Of course, like in the U.S., not all of these traditions are spiritual. In fact, many have nothing to do with Jesus Christ at all. However, it is interesting to see how the different cultural influences have forged unique traditions.

For our benefit, many Encompass Global Workers have provided some the Christmas customs in the countries they serve in. Take a look at the manifold Christmas traditions around the world. While you glance, be sure to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who live in these countries and for God to use them mightily. Merry Christmas!

Update on Carol Schuler's Memorial Service
