Update On Crisis Response In Nepal

One of the richest beauties afforded believers is joining with complete strangers before the throne of God and finding we are family. A second is watching God redeem a horrific tragedy by somehow squeezing goodness out of it. The Nepal earthquake response has delivered on both. It is a beauty to savor, and savor we shall, worshiping both now and forever before the throne of “Him Who works all things after the counsel of His will.” (Ephesians 1:11)

Wooster Team Encounters Atlanta

41 participants from Wooster Grace Church (Ohio) are here in Georgia for a week to "Encounter Atlanta." The team prepared for weeks by learning about different religions and world views, and by preparing a Vacation Bible School (VBS) program for local evening ministry.

Encompass staff in N'djamena, the capital city of Chad, Africa have not been affected by today’s suicide bombings. At least 23 people died, and over 100 more have been wounded in simultaneous suicide attacks on police buildings.

Bible Training Going Well in Cameroon

Training continues to go well at the new Grace Brethren Bible Institute in Yaounde, Cameroon. The current class just finished their second module, Hermeneutics (Bible Study methods). “The men learned a ton,” according to Jason Carmean, Encompass staff member and leader of the institute. Jason says, “This process was completely foreign to the men, but they worked hard to understand and implement it into their Bible study, preaching, and teaching.”

Nepal Relief Goals Met!

God's people have come through again! Thanks to your generosity flowing from His provision, Encompass World Partners has met our giving goals for our relief efforts in Nepal. With over $53,000 pledged as of May 27, we're providing transitional homes to 300 families displaced by recent earthquakes and continuing aftershocks. But your giving has gone beyond that to also provide a community center for those waiting for transitional homes to be built.

Your Giving Continues to Bless Nepal

Through the continued generosity of our friends and supporters, Encompass exceeded the goal of providing 300 transitional homes for Nepali families late last week! Additional gifts will assist in building a community center to help shelter those waiting for their homes to be built. Constructed in much the same way as the transitional homes, this structure will then be used for other community activities, and will ultimately be gifted to those engaged in ongoing community outreach.

As of May 22, over 313 homes for Nepali families have been pledged through the generosity of Encompass' friends and partners! But earthquake relief efforts aren't stopping. As Crisis Response Network Director, Barb Wooler posted on her Facebook page, further gifts could help fund a Community Center to bring even more relief to frightened, devastated Nepali people.
