Encompass World Partners News

As of May 22, over 313 homes for Nepali families have been pledged through the generosity of Encompass' friends and partners! But earthquake relief efforts aren't stopping. As Crisis Response Network Director, Barb Wooler posted on her Facebook page, further gifts could help fund a Community Center to bring even more relief to frightened, devastated Nepali people.

Nepali Homes Project Goal Nearly Met!

Wednesday, 20 May 2015 19:31

Encompass is excited to report that, due to God's provision and your generous gifts to our Earthquake Relief fund, we've nearly reached our goal of providing 300 homes to Nepali families still reeling from the devastation and aftershocks of late April's earthquake...over 10 days ahead of our original deadline!

Crisis Response Network Director, Barb Wooler, posted on her Facebook page today: "We had a little 'excitement' here in Kathmandu at 2:47 p.m. this afternoon. This was the loudest and longest (around 10 secs?) aftershock we have felt since arriving in Kathmandu a week ago. We are getting 4-6 of these each day."

As of May 15 over 30 transitional homes for Nepali families have already been purchased through the generosity of Encompass supporters! Crisis Response Network Director Barb Wooler is now able to show us what the homes will look like.

Barb Wooler Assesses Nepal Situation

Friday, 15 May 2015 20:47

Director of Encompass’ Crisis Response Network, Barb Wooler, has been on the ground in Nepal for about 36 hours. Along with our partners from Reach Global, she is assessing the situation follow earthquakes that struck the country on April 25 (7.8 magnitude) and May 12 (7.3 magnitude). She reports that all around the city of Kathmandu, any open space is occupied with tents and tarps…makeshift homes for people too terrified to enter “permanent” structures.

Homes for Nepali Families

Tuesday, 12 May 2015 19:00

A 7.8 magnitude-earthquake struck Nepal on April 25, killing, maiming, and scarring the Nepali people in body, soul, and spirit. Tens of thousands have been left homeless. Those fortunate enough to have homes still standing are terrified to return to them as long as powerful aftershocks continue.
