Their focus is clear; their passion is great; their commitment is strong. What they lack are the finances to live out their Great Commission dreams.

These dedicated men and women are selected, trained and sent by their local churches. While deeply committed to providing the prayer and support needed, most of these churches are unable to fully meet the financial challenge of sending workers cross-culturally.

They have the workers. We have financial resources.

Imagine a very special day – a day when churches like yours across North America unite in collecting a generous gift to support the Great Commission efforts of our sister churches around the world.

Our goal is to match the financial sacrifices of our sister churches by raising $499,000 in a nation-wide offering set for November 6, 2011.

Over the years GBIM has developed close partnerships with our sister-churches in other countries. We’ve learned that unhealthy dependency patterns can be avoided when we work directly with the missions agencies formed by these churches. Funds raised through the Day of Generosity will be distributed as grants to these agencies in such a tway as to ensure that they maintain their dignity and freedom in administering their own Great Commission ministries.

Take a moment to imagine with me a very special day – a day when churches like yours across North America unite in collecting a generous gift to support the Great Commission efforts of our sister churches around the world.

In early September we’ll provide you with promotional materials that will include 1) an introductory video, 2) a “thank you” video, 3) links to short video clips telling the stories of national missionaries, 4) a set of posters, 5) images for projectors or PowerPoint announcement slides, and 6) ideas for bulletin inserts. We encourage you to project one of the images each Sunday from October 2-23  and the video on November 6.

On the Day of Generosity we encourage you to join churches across America in collecting a special, sacrificial gift. Mark your gift Day of Generosity and send it immediately to Encompass World Partners, Box 80065, City of Industry, CA, 91716-8065. Shortly after the event we’ll announce the total amount raised.
